State of the art

In virtue of the new goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, it is appropriate to revisit not only the current legislative system, but to do so in an expedient manner, in particular by helping to appropriately empower consumers when choosing and using food products. For this, it is not only necessary to make consumers aware of the need for behavior that is more in keeping with the new sustainability policies, but also to inform them appropriately. In this sense, it is appropriate to evaluate the legal aspects that serve to this effect, one of which is the labeling of foodstuffs, particularly in the front of pack labeling. Providing simple, non-chaotic nutritional information can contribute to eco-friendlier and sustainable consumer behavior.

Operation plan

  • To analyze the legal framework related to front of pack labeling with a critical point by a dogmatic and comparative legal approach.
  • To Understand a new and appropriate legal framework under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development goals in order a front of pack labeling.
  • To investigate forward a better legal framework information protection for the consumer.
  • To propose the most appropriate legislation in order to reach a proper information about healthy and sustainable food and a better system of front of pack labeling leading to Eco-friendlier and sustainable consumer behaviors.

Expected results

Legal Tools to reach consumer and legal practitioner awareness of optimal information for the consumer in the moment of buy or eat a product and which permit to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals.
