Report on tailored interventions’ design and testing for better home food procurement (M36)
To change dietary habits remains a challenge so far. To date, limited information was found regarding which strategies of interventions could modify dietary habits towards a healthier behavior and maintain it on the long term. Moreover, most of the studies conducted so far, focused on promoting eating healthier food, without taking into account the entire process encompassing food production, consumption and packaging, and the effects that all these aspects may have on environmental sustainability.
However, what is the best strategy to change and maintain the healthy lifestyle habit is still unknown.
The Eat Healthy and Sustainable study would be the first Italian study that aims to measure the feasibility and effectiveness of different intervention strategies in increasing the purchase and consumption of healthy and sustainable food, in the context of supermarket’s online shops.
The intervention strategies will focus on citizens aged ≥18 years who frequently shop online.
Participants will be randomized to one of the following groups:
The feasibility of the strategies and the choice of the best one will be evaluated through questionnaires and through the acquisition of the food purchases of the participants in the following months after the interventions.
