The Department of Computer Science, Systems, and Communication at the University of Milano-Bicocca will host a seminar titled "A roadmap towards healthy and sustainable food-related behaviours" on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The event will take place in the Seminar Room of the ABACUS Building – U14, Viale Sarca, Milan.

The seminar will feature Beatrice Biasini, Cinzia Franchini, and Damiano Callegaro, experts from the Department of Food and Drug Sciences at the University of Parma – Human Nutrition Unit. The discussion will delve into the current challenges facing the agri-food system, highlighting the implications of the climate crisis and malnutrition, and will showcase research and awareness initiatives aimed at educating the public about healthy and sustainable dietary models.

Topics will include:

  • The impact of food systems on the environment and human health.
  • Strategies to promote sustainable diets and reduce the global obesity epidemic.

Educational initiatives and research projects designed to raise awareness across different population groups.

Speakers:

  • Beatrice Biasini, Researcher in Human Nutrition (MED/49), with over 20 peer-reviewed publications, specializing in adherence to the Mediterranean Diet and environmental sustainability.
  • Cinzia Franchini, Nutritionist with international experience, expert in educational strategies to promote sustainable diets.
  • Damiano Callegaro, PhD student in Food Sciences, involved in the PNRR project “ON Foods,” focused on promoting healthy and sustainable dietary models.

The event is open to students, researchers, professionals, and anyone interested in the topic of food sustainability and its social and environmental impacts.
